Should In God We Trust Be on the U.S. Dollar Bill? Should God Be Taken Off Our Currency?

By Ion Saliu, Founding Father of Mathematical Atheism

Religious fanaticism has been the hardest to argue-against forever. God on dollar bill!

Authored in July 2009.

Here is part of my participation in the virtual world of monosyllabic stupidity (texting, iPadding, etc.) (Hail to the new Prez! He is a glitzerly staunch advocate for the devices of monosyllabic idiotism!)

If you wish, you can copy-and-paste the following URL to your browser's address bar. I avoid publishing clickable links, as the Internet changes faster than the desert or Al Gore's polar caps:

facebook.com/home.php?#/realpolls/

My messages might still be there for a good while. If not, here is the persistent version of my take on that important Constitutional issue.

I agree with the former governor of the state of Minnesota, Jesse Ventura: Religion is the crutch of those who are mentally weak. Having said that, I do agree with freedom of religion all over the world, much like a particular form of meditation. Religion should remain TOTALLY private, however. Exiting the confines of religious privacy turns strong beliefs into forms of insanity — all kinds of hallucinations turn into life inadmissible conducts.

Read the philosophical analysis of religion and mental programming of the weakest (the children):

Truth, Beliefs, Religion, Science, Philosophy, Mental Programming, Brain Washing.

First off, my vote was meant to be against God on the dollar bill. A poll should never be phrased as a negation. The affirmation must come first:

Allow the word God on the dollar bill?

My answer: NO, NOO, NOOO!

Hint: separation of religion and state.

Study Intelligent Design, Theory of Evolution, Creationism against Science, God on money.

Keben Bird:

I don't intend to make religion sound like a terrible thing. In fact, I was very religious, especially in my childhood. My grandparents and parents succeeded in making me a religious child, although I was a brilliant student in a Communist country! But I never took my religion to the classroom!

I am a strong advocate now that religion must remain a private affair. Also, children must be protected from religious imposition (especially by family or government). Religion must be a right given to adults, like voting or alcohol drinking.

AND yes, I have read it, studied it, and other writings of my forefathers too. Have you???

Yes, I have! But you did NOT!

What a contradiction today, in American politics, compared to the Founding Fathers and early U.S. Presidents! George Washington hated church going so much, that he abandoned his church altogether! John Adams had harsh words towards religious people — he considered them a bunch of idiots! Abraham Lincoln had also strong anti-religious feelings, although he disguised them pretty well in that tragically stormy era.

Jefferson was so wise in religious matters that he realized that only government neutrality would save America from the tragic religious fervor that devastated Europe in the Dark Ages and soon after Renaissance. Alas, Thomas Jefferson was such an insanely strong advocate for slavery and racism! Some cynics explain: It was so because he had no God! Still, how many loving Christians today strongly advocate and even condone racism? Virtually all advocates of slavery were devoted Christians. Their God-loving mentality led to the Civil War. Virtually all racists in the U.S. today are devoted Christians. Fortunately, their God-loving filthy minds virtually lead only to disgust in the sane society at large.

Foregone-conclusion poll #1: What is the percentage of children who successfully opposed the religious imposition upon them by their parents or grandparents?
Answer: Virtually ZERO.

Foregone-conclusion poll #2: What is the percentage of children-turned-adults who successfully changed the religion imposed upon them by their parents or grandparents?
Answer: Virtually NEGLIGIBLE.

Explanation: Religion represents the strongest form of mental programming. Read:

Philosophy, Computational Psychology: Fear Survival, Humans-Computing-Beasts.

Rich Goranson:

"You're not a Pharisee. You're a Red."

If you aimed at me (the idiots are not very clear regardless if God's on their side or not), the RED belongs to you. Redneckish AH who plays the label card! Like the hypocrite Dubiyas who turned to God to save them from alcoholism. Then they went on to kill hundreds of thousands and advocate torture as sin-saving for the evil-doers!

Morgan Brykein:

"I think he was referring to Jenna, Ion."

My comment remains. It is still valid. The AH resorts to intimidation be labeling. Great geniuses, such as Charlie Chaplin and Orson Welles fell victim to such redneckish bullish idiotism. Fortunately, history always does justice. Chaplin and Orson Welles were recognized as true geniuses within a reasonably short time after the attempts to destroy their lives.

See: Prophet Mohammed Cartoons and the Schizophrenic Children of Mankind.

And that's how fanatics survive! Thick-headedly idiotism of a filthy-minded minority!

The same stupidiotic form of intimidation that I talked about in this thread: Labeling. The redneckish AHs throw threats such as:

You are RED!

If you are not Christian, you don't even have a right to be here!

By the way, even the cool-headed George Washington would have crushed, as if they were dangerous worms, those who linked being an American to being a Christian! That was very important in the early years of America.

After all, the basis of the New World consisted of the religious outlaws of Europe. The religious outlaws of Europe were so lucky to survive the cleansing frenzy of the dominant Christian denominations in their areas!

Thomas Jefferson was wise enough to realize that America was the last island of salvation in the huge ocean of religious intolerance. Like it or not, he thought, but this government will not favor any religion. They all represent F Stupidity at its peak!!!

Tamara Dutcher:

What are you talking about? Yes, I received messages from you. Brain seizures do not imply the existence of God. I wrote in an early article of mine that religious doctrines are heavily linked to brain seizures. Matter of fact, all major religions are the creation of intelligent epileptics.

Doctor Ramachandran, a non-white immigrant to this country is far shier than I am when it comes to expressing the truth. He is an Indian, I am Socratic. Unfortunately, some people fall under the weight of skin-color intimidation!

By the way: Our Chief Justice John Roberts had seizures soon after he took office at the U.S. Supreme Court. It was for the second time in his life. That makes him technically an epileptic. But it does NOT make him a god! Not even a prophet. The era of prophets died with Joseph Smith, the Mormon who insanely believed that America was founded by Jews some two and a half millennia ago…

Here is that early article for other people to read:

Brain, seizures, beliefs, religious behavior, religion.

PS

I deeply hate the Facebook editor. It caters the monosyllabic idiotism! Like the prez on his Blackberry... U gd? M 2 ok. C U ltr.

"this country was built on Christianity; now everyone is pushing God out, out of schools, out of work environments, and out of our lives, and then they wonder why our country is seemingly going downhill..."

Nothing more stupidiotic! Perhaps YOUR country … in your profoundly dark mind … NOT PEOPLE'S COUNTRY!

This country was not built on Christianity, but by ESCAPE from Christianity! Who knows what the hell your denomination might be? But, for sure, your Christian denomination was subject to the death sentence by the most dominant Christian denomination in one part of Europe or another.

Of course, your Christianity would have been subject to the death sentence in ANY part of the Islamic civilization. Both civilizations were cruel to the extreme, although Islam never had an Institution such as the Inquisition.

By the way: The current Pope was the head of the (modern time) Inquisition. Had he been the Pope in the Middle Ages, he would have personally ordered the torture and murder of any human, no matter how brilliant the mind. Galileo might have not survived just about any headcase Pope…

"If we don't trust in God, this world will definately Go to Hell!"

Hell is in your soul, son! Ignorance is Hell! Godchild of mine, open up your mind! You got a rare instrument in the whole Universe: REASON! Only ignorance shakes your feelings to the trembling of Fear!

If it thunders, you are frightened that the bad case of Cosmic Indigestion is gonna kill you like a chemical bomb! Something like only the Muslims can do to the Christians… Kemical Ali, ye know… Alas, all religions are founded on Kemical Ali's...

Yes, I can handle the fanatics single-handedly. No need for Kemical's!

Cristyl Marie Wilcox:

"If we don't trust in God, this world will definately Go to Hell!"

Hell is in your soul, son! Ignorance is Hell! Godchild of mine…"

I meant DAUGHTER… not son… But I treat daughters and sons equally. Unlike the religions, which give too many rights to the sons and boys… while ripping off the daughters and girls of most of their nature-given rights…

"The God talked about on the back of the bill has and will always be the one and only true God, Jesus Christ!"

Don't worry, people of Reason – Rational persons, that is! I surely can face fanatics single-handedly! After all, the KGB couldn't put me down. How could this disparate (and desperate) bunch of hallucinating weeded brains? God-Jesus-Christ is now like an Adam Smith, who wrote the book of economics. Or is God a Karl Marx who printed His own logo on the "root of all Evil to date" (from Pink Floyd's Money)?

Jesus Christ! There is NO message from a Muslim, or Hindu, or Buddhist, or Animist ... or anything non-Christian ... in this thread! Isn't religious equality in the Bill of Rights, the first batch of amendments to the U.S. Constitution?

Oh, I get it! Your God is only where you live! Had this thread been started in Saudi Arabia or Iran – only the Muslims would have loudly claimed their religion as the fundamental Constitution!

The Hindi would have only accepted their Mithras (precursors of the Christian Christ) as the only valid Constitution. The same about Buddhists... The fiercely believing Japanese would have very loudly advocated their Shinto as the only valid faith...

And thus we all come down with our feet on the ground. It's all IDEOLOGY! May the most powerful of them gods win!

Brain, seizures, beliefs, religious behavior, religion.

"the bible is written by men for men just as harry potter is written by a woman for all mankind to read it is just a story, an epic like the Iliad or the Odessy…"

First off, I disgustingly dislike idiotic formatting like in your text, even IF you might belong in my camp. For we are here at war: Reason against Irrationality. Socrates started that Holy War – but he was executed. The Renaissance took a more cautious and patient approach. I say it was too patient. World War II should have put an end to all F gods and religions. If WWII was not enough, then the landing of a human being on the Moon should have been more than compellingly enough.

It is NOT easy to delete or overwrite mental programs, though. I know it best, and I WILL write extensively about it. It's all about the FearSurvival system – the fundamental principle of life.

O tempora, O mores! Look at those literary works: The Iliad and the Odyssey (learn the correct spelling, idiotic atheist!) Such times, such manners! Sic transit gloria mundi! That's how fast the glory of the world passes! The Iliad and the Odyssey were RELIGION, not literary works! Should you, had you lived in Ancient Greece, claim that the Iliad and the Odyssey were literature – you would have been sentenced to death. Not even Socrates dodged that…

"Julian Strachan 6:32 pm

for ion

Well then we see how easily religions come and go when people realize that it is just literature."

"Grace DeCicco 6:31 pm

This country was based on Reason not Faith."

Now, I like you even better, Atheists! You are not spineless, after all! I know, the loud stupidiotic fanatics have intimidated you for years. In the U.S., they apply the redneckish tactic of intimidation via labeling. Like: "You are Goddless! You are Red! You are The Antichrist!"

In other religious civilizations, such as Islam, the fanatics go way beyond verbal intimidation: They kill, or, at least, suicide-bomb-kill the opponents.

We got the most powerful weapon of them all: REASON. Why? Because it is an INSTRUMENT, first and foremost. Our first instrument – the ARMS – was an instrument not an arm, as in firearms!

"In the US Government, there are 12 Supreme Court Justices."

It's NINE (9) Justices, Idiot! That's how the messages get through more clearly and loudly in the Internet Age! Take that to the eyes and ears of the fanatics, including religious.

Plato thought (in The Republic) that any state must be ruled by a clique of 12 Philosophers. Plato tried to apply his philosophy in real-life, but he failed miserably. The City-State of Syracuse (Sicily, not New York) almost killed Plato because of his political failure.

Personally, I think 9 Justices is way too few. Many life-important decisions come to life in 5-to-4 votes. I would double up Plato and go with 24 Justices. And they must not serve more than two four-year terms – like the Presidents that nominate them justices. The Justices have too much of a divinity-like aura…

" Marc Neff 6:57 pm

How dare you call God an it or a she He is the Almighty Omega and He created us to worship Him and yet He died on the cross and yet some of us reject Him??? Why is this"

Answer: To wake you up, stupidiot!

Think about the immense number of gods (HIMs more often, HERs less frequently) have induced delirious behavior in stupidiots! Why should your delirious HIM be more valid than other idiots' HIMs?

Only Reason has a natural right to DARE: That's how Homo sapiens reached this point in evolution. A point that allows a lowlife like you turn on a devilish device named PC and open the floodgates to the hell named Internet ...

Enjoy your journey, venomous stupidiot!

"Judy Schworm 7:04 pm
-- Ion Saliu: I stand corrected [12 Supreme Court Justices instead of 9]. When I find the similarity, will post it. In the meantime, I don't think 'idiot' was necessary, do you?"

Quod erat demonstrandum.

That's the way the messages get through more clearly and loudly in the Internet Age! You can take that to the eyes and ears of the fanatics, including religious.

No offence, no harm intended. It is just as it were ... speaking of idiot ...

"April Humphrey 7:10 pm

and in the pledge of allegence ,one nation under god, can go too!!

Marc Neff 7:10 pm

hey Ion why are you so mean. Do u believe in God,Jesus and the Holy Spirit the are al so real even the Bible proves so."

First order: Clean up your minds, stupidiots! Learn to read and write! Those programs they etched on your minds must be erased first. It is not easy, but it is possible!

" allegence ," ... "the are al so real even the Bible proves so."

Look at those sentences! Why strong religious belief is so intimately linked to stupidity? Why most religious fanatics have a disability, in one form or another? Why most of them are so ugly? Look at their bullbookated eyes! That's why they are bullboochahs, one of the subspecies that did split from the Neanderthals. Only a lowlife subspecies would bullbookate their eyes so badly in anger and hatred!

" Ken Matson 7:21 pm

Hey Ion Saliu, I'll take an IQ test with you! Maybe that will settle who's the "Stupid" you are referring to?"

You win when it comes to naming all those junk foods that you voraciously engulf day and night! That's the essence of all IQ tests!

The typical "bravery" in the virtual world! I've seen that dozens of times by now! After I beat you like a drummer in any REAL intelligent test, your next step would be:

"I'm gonna beat you up in any parking lot!"

In real life, however, you must be notorious for your self-wetting when confrontation struck you!

This persistent copy points to the importance of the separation of state and religion, one of the two most solid pillars of the American democracy. The other pillar is the separation of powers.

NO, God should not be on the dollar bill, which is issued by the U.S. Department of Treasury. The Treasury is an agency of the federal government, therefore it should be separated from any form of religion. GOD unambiguously implies Christian religion. The numerically insignificant Jews would probably say Yahwe. The Muslims definitely use the word Allah and always in Arabic. The Buddhists do not even use a concept such as God. Shinto don't use God, either. How about the Animists? But, most importantly, how about the Atheists? Atheism and religion are equally protected in the First Amendment of the Bill of Rights.

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."

Clearly, the religion may not be prohibited. The freedom of speech may not be prohibited, either. Atheism represents freedom of speech. So does philosophy, science, art — they may not be prohibited. The United States was NOT founded on Christianity. It started as a penitentiary outlet to release the pressures of criminality that England was facing in the era leading to the Industrialization. Later, England discovered that Australia was a better penitentiary territory.

Then America became the place to settle unusual Christians. The dominant Christians in Europe literally turned into vicious murderers of "unusual" Christians! "Unusual" Christians actually were considered heretics!

So, how could a sane person say that America was founded on Christian principles? The Mayflower founders were considered the excrement of Christianity by their English Christian fellows! It is closer to the historic truth that America was founded by heretics!

In truth, the founding fathers were publicly INSINCERE religious people. Starting with Founder Father In-Chief, George Washington. He hated going to church so much, that he decided NOT to attend church anymore! The second President, John Adams, had harsh words regarding religious people. In few words, John Adams considered the religious people a bunch of thick idiots!

John Adams - the Cross; consider what calamities that engine of grief has produced.

Thomas Jefferson – A professor of theology should have no place in our institution.

"This would be the best of all possible worlds, if there were no religion in it!" - John Adams

"And the day will come when the mystical generation of Jesus, by the supreme being as his father in the womb of a virgin will be classed with the fable of the generation of Minerve in the brain of Jupiter. But may we hope that the dawn of reason and freedom of thought in these United States will do away with this artificial scaffolding, and restore to us the primitive and genuine doctrines of this most venerated reformer of human errors." - Thomas Jefferson, Letter to John Adams, April 11, 1823.

"I never submitted the whole system of my opinions to the creed of any party of men whatever in religion, in philosophy, in politics, or in anything else where I was capable of thinking for myself. Such an addiction is the last degradation of a free and moral agent." - Thomas Jefferson, letter to Francis Hopkinson, March 13, 1789."

"Christianity neither is, nor ever was a part of the common law." - Thomas Jefferson, letter to Dr. Thomas Cooper, February 10, 1814."

The Treaty of Tripoli, passed by the U.S. Senate in 1797, read in part: "The government of the United States is not in any sense founded on the Christian religion." The treaty was written during the Washington administration, and sent to the Senate during the Adams administration. It was read aloud to the Senate, and each Senator received a printed copy. This was the 339th time that a recorded vote was required by the Senate, but only the third time a vote was unanimous (the next time was to honor George Washington). There is no record of any debate or dissension on the treaty. It was reprinted in full in three newspapers - two in Philadelphia, one in New York City. There is no record of public outcry or complaint in subsequent editions of the papers."

It was during Adam's administration that the Senate ratified the Treaty of Peace and Friendship, which states in Article XI that "the government of the United States of America is not in any sense founded on the Christian Religion."

"Religious bondage shackles and debilitates the mind and unfits it for every noble enterprise."
"During almost fifteen centuries has the legal establishment of Christianity been on trial. What have been its fruits? More or less in all places, pride and indolence in the Clergy, ignorance and servility in the laity, in both, superstition, bigotry and persecution." - James Madison

"As to Jesus of Nazareth, my Opinion of whom you particularly desire, I think the System of Morals and his Religion...has received various corrupting Changes, and I have, with most of the present dissenters in England, some doubts as to his Divinity; tho' it is a question I do not dogmatize upon, having never studied it, and think it needless to busy myself with it now, when I expect soon an opportunity of knowing the Truth with less trouble." - Benjamin Franklin

"That Jesus Christ was not God is evidence from his own words." Allen noted that he was generally "denominated a Deist, the reality of which I never disputed, being conscious that I am no Christian." When Allen married Fanny Buchanan, he stopped his own wedding ceremony when the judge asked him if he promised "to live with Fanny Buchanan agreeable to the laws of God." Allen refused to answer until the judge agreed that the God referred to was the God of Nature, and the laws those "written in the great book of nature."

"I do not believe in the creed professed by the Jewish church, by the Roman church, by the Greek church, by the Turkish church, by the Protestant church, nor by any church that I know of...Each of those churches accuse the other of unbelief; and for my own part, I disbelieve them all." - Thomas Paine for the win"

Philosophically, the American democracy was founded on the principles of the Athenian democracy. If the Founding Fathers admired something, it was the brilliant Greek civilization.

In juridical terms, the American democracy was founded on the Roman law. Even today, the American justice system uses a lot of terms in Latin! Like the most important aspect imported from Roman law: Habeas corpus. No American graduates from the law school without good knowledge of the Latin language.

How much did the Founding Fathers admire the Classical Civilizations of Athens and Rome? Just look at the buildings of the federal government!

"Dave Bailey 7:17 pm
The left wing nut jobs would have you believe that its the Govt's responsability to house you, feed you, give you free medical care and pretty much babysit you and your family. Well that is the definition of Socialisem."

Ion Saliu: Nobody asked you for anything, "irresponsable" stupidiot! Or, is it Socialisem idioet? The typical redneckish tactic: Intimidation by labeling! Both religious believers and non-believers fall on hard times randomly. Yes, churches do help sometimes. So do laic, secular organizations. The bad thing is when church help pressures a needy person to become a member of the respective church. Secular organizations don't put such pressure on the needy.

It might have been the Atheists who placed that religious-like motto on the dollar bill! It wouldn't be a surprise at all. The early American politicians were modeled by the Enlightenment. Therefore they were strongly negative about religion.

"In God We Trust" is NOT on the heady side of the bill — Heads, that is. It is on "Tails" — tail-end, get it? The religiousniks should be the ones to vociferously ask the removal of "In God We Trust" from the dollar bills. Not to mention that "money is the root of all evil to date", according to the Bible! If Money is God and God is Money — there ain't no righteousness on Earth!

Perhaps the Atheists played a practical joke on religiousniks — knowing how stupidiots they are???

Religiousniks, exercise your right under the First Amendment and petition the government to redress your grievance!

Damon Getsman said:
"Thank you! Your words of intelligence are appreciated in that glaring black cave of ignorance. ;)"

I know how much the stupidiots love me! I am not kidding! I developed this psychological methodology inspired by Terentius. "Ut homo est, ita morem geras."

The thick mental programs experience a shake-up. Guys come back to me later and show adoption of Reason as their main instrument in life on earth. IF humans were not subject to such oppressive mental programming starting in childhood! Unfortunately, they are! That's how humans become religiousniks, aparatchniks, and all sorts of fanatiks!

Ut homo est, ita morem geras.
Suit your manner to the man.

Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin, Founding Fathers were atheists, positivists, rationalists.

America is a Christian nation - Said NO Founding Father, ever!

In God we trust on American currency sounds more like a joke - cheap falsity.

Should God be taken off our currency? YES, absolutely! NO TO GOD ON MONEY!
